Meredith Hwang grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and trained at Metropolitan Ballet Theater and Academy. At age 16, she moved to Boston to train at the Boston Ballet School where she attended for three years and was a trainee for two years. She had the opportunity to perform in Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Coppelia, and Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella with the company. She has attended summer intensives at Nashville Ballet, Carolina Ballet, School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet.

- Favorite role that you have danced: My favorite role that I’ve danced has been Cinderella. I was sixteen when I got to perform this at my home studio, and it was one of the most challenging yet the most fun role I have had the chance to do.
- If you weren’t dancing, what would you be doing? If I was not dancing, I would be attending college to earn my degree. I would love to go into a field that is still related to dance, but I am open to so many different things.
- Favorite TV show: Grey’s Anatomy
- Hobbies you enjoy outside of dance: I enjoy baking, and I also love to spend time with friends and family. I also love traveling and seeing new places.
- Favorite thing about Charlotte: I am excited for the warm weather in Charlotte, especially having come from Boston! Charlotte seems like a very fun city, and I am so excited to explore.
