Meet Lizzy Greene!

As we’re counting down the days till the start of the 2021/2022 Class Year, we’re excited to introduce you to the incredible staff and faculty who keep us moving. First up, Lizzy Greene, Academy Experience Manager! Get to know Lizzy better from our Q&A below!

What do you do at Charlotte Ballet?

“As Academy Experience Manager, I am often referred to the “hub” of communication for my department. I recruit and register dancers of all ages into our year-round programs, and serve as the primary point of contact for Academy families. I supervise our reception staff and work closely with them to provide a warm, welcoming environment to all. I also coordinate our National Audition Tour, manage Charlotte Ballet’s Summer Intensive, and support all other Academy functions. I can truly say I’ve learned something new each day since beginning this role.”

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

“I love to bake and try new recipes to share with family and friends. I enjoy taking my senior dog out for walks around my neighborhood, and sometimes foster other dogs while they wait to find their forever homes. I’ve recently taken up roller skating – I’ll keep you posted on my progress!”

Any good movie, book, or music recommendations?

Lately I’m listening to Phoebe Bridgers, Japanese Breakfast, H.E.R., Sharon Van Etten & Angel Olsen to name a few. I’ll read almost anything – my recommendation is to find a subject you like and read whatever you can get your hands on! Go visit Book Buyers on The Plaza and you’ll be sure to come away with a few gems.”

What are you looking forward to this season?

“I’m so excited to bring Academy classes back to their fullest capacity this school year. Last year we operated on a hybrid schedule, rotating between in person and online instruction. I’m so proud of all our students accomplished in that time and look forward to watching their success in the studios this year.”

What do the arts in Charlotte mean to you?

“Art provides an opportunity to know and understand our neighbors through their creativity and self-expression. The ballet is just one small part of what our community has to offer. Go create and explore!”
