In The Studio with Andrés Trezevant
Innovative 1970 | February 4-26 | Center For Dance
It’s 1973, we follow a group of homeless vets. Content as a collective. Making houses out of their own draft cards. United in combat and their idea in making their voices heard through protest. They are assisted by longtime friends and fellow service members who stood alongside them overseas as medics. But even as the fighting ceased and the troops returned home, for many, the war came with them. With so many coming home with both physical and mental trauma, it begs the question… What was it for?
We are so proud of company artist Andrés Trezevant for exploring his choreographic journey as he choreographs a new work for Innovative 1970. See what he’s been working on in the studio!
