The 11th Annual Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte Gala Recap!
What an incredible evening! On March 2, our Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte Gala raised over $1.53 million for Charlotte Ballet and six charities.
The 11th annual Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte Gala was an exciting competition between six corporate and community leaders who put their all into not only fundraising but perfecting a creative dance routine with their Charlotte Ballet dancing partner. This year’s benefiting charities include the Muggsy Bogues Family Foundation, Atrium Health Levine Children’s, YMCA of Greater Charlotte, Novant Health Foundation, FourBlock and The Mint Museum. We are so excited to give back to these charities with the help of our Star Pairs. Approximately $535,000 will be distributed back to the community through the Stars’ chosen charities.
This year’s Gala was chaired by the 2023 People’s Choice winner, Posey Mealy, and the 2023 Judge’s Choice winner, Danielle Edwards.
We were also joined by two wonderful emcees, Jonathan & Natalie Stewart! Jonathan, former Panthers player, and his wife Natalie now have their own local TV show called ‘Lately,’ where they share the stories of several Charlotte businesses and their owners.
Our 2024 Judges’ panel included Miss NC USA Jordyn McKey, WBTV news anchor Caroline Hicks, performer and choreographer Hardin Minor and President of the Carolina Panthers Kristi Coleman! All four of our judges were incredibly impressed by our Star Dancer Pairs, and had a tough time choosing a winner.
So how did the competition stack up? Two winners were crowned for the evening.
Community Leader Charlotte Wickham and Charlotte Ballet Dancer Humberto Ramazzina were awarded the title of The People’s Choice for raising the most funds.
Senior Vice President of Atrium Health Levine Children’s Callie Dobbins and Charlotte Ballet Dancer Maurice Mouzon Jr. won the title of The Judge’s Choice for receiving a perfect score on their exciting dance routine for the evening.
