On Friday June 19, Charlotte Ballet Academy is waiving class fees for our regularly scheduled Intersession Classes in lieu of donations to organizations that work to advance racial equality and justice in our community.
A class schedule for this day is listed below.
IN LIEU OF ACCEPTING FEES FOR THESE CLASSES, WE ASK THAT YOU DONATE TO ONE OF THESE CHARITIES:
COLOR OF CHANGE The nation’s largest online racial justice organization. We help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force driven by 1.7 million members, we move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.
THE NAACP LEGAL DEFENSE & EDUCATIONAL FUND America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.
HEAL CHARLOTTE We are here to serve our community of Charlotte, NC, and to build trust and legitimate bonds. Our aim is to unite our community by creating an open dialogue between the citizens, police and elected officials.
THE HARVEY B. GANTT CENTER FOR AFRICAN-AMERICAN ARTS + CULTURE presents, preserves and celebrates excellence in the art, history and culture of African-Americans and people of African descent. We ignite engagement and conversations that inspire, empower and enlighten all.
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACKS IN DANCE (IABD) preserves and promotes dance by people of African ancestry or origin, and assists and increases opportunities for artists in advocacy, audience development, education, funding, networking, performance, philosophical dialogue, and touring.
