Frequently Asked Questions – Performances + Ticketing
Can I exchange my tickets for another performance?
Season subscribers get FREE ticket exchanges up to 72 hours prior to the performance for which you have tickets. Non-subscribers can exchange tickets for a $5 per ticket fee up to 72 hours in advance of the performance for which you have tickets. Call Blumenthal box office at 704.372.1000. There are no exchanges within 72 hours before a performance.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds on ticket purchases.
What is an appropriate age for children to attend the ballet?
Because each child is different, we do not recommend a particular age at which a child is ready for the ballet. However, we do believe that when a child can reasonably sit through a movie at the theater, for example, they are ready to enjoy a live performance on-stage.
Do you have special pricing for children’s tickets?
We do not offer a child ticket price; however, tickets for all of our shows start at just $30.
Does my baby need a ticket?
Yes. Everyone attending, no matter their age, is required to have a ticket for entrance into the theater.
How early can I pick up my tickets at Will Call?
Will Call opens 2 hours prior to each performance.
What time does theater lobby open?
The lobby opens one hour prior to each performance.
How should I dress for the ballet?
Some people like to dress up for a night on the town, but business casual attire is also welcome. You’ll see it all at the ballet—even tutus and tiaras at certain shows!
What happens if I arrive late?
Our late seating policy is determined by the show that is being presented. Each show has different pacing and timing that determines when late seating is available. Usually, late arrivals will be held until the first pause in the program. It is always best to check the Know Before You Go email that the ballet sends prior to the show you are attending for the late seating policy.
Do you sell tickets the night of the show?
If a performance has not sold out, there are tickets available for purchase at the box office. Please note that seating and pricing options may be limited, especially for our most popular sell-out performances. We also offer student rush tickets (student ID required) at the door for select performances. See our website for details.
I am not a subscriber, can I exchange my tickets for a different performance?
We offer ticket exchanges for $5/ticket to our non-subscribers. Please note that if you are switching performance dates, you are not guaranteed to have the same seats.
Where do your performances take place?
There are three venues that Charlotte Ballet uses for performances — Knight Theater, Belk Theater (currently Nutcracker only) and the Center for Dance, which is the home of Charlotte Ballet. Please check our website or your ticket for venue information pertaining to your particular show.
Where do I park?
For performances at Knight and Belk Theaters, $10 parking is available at designated garages. You must purchase the $10 pass at the theater after you park. Please reference the Know Before You Go email that is sent out prior to your performance for directions and maps.
