Pierce Gallagher is from Waxhaw, North Carolina and began training at Charlotte Ballet Academy at the age of 8. During his time in the Academy he performed in works such as eight productions of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s Nutcracker, two productions of Sleeping Beauty, two productions of Peter Pan and Mark Diamond’s The Little Mermaid. Pierce spent one season as a trainee in Charlotte Ballet’s Pre-professional division. During his time as a trainee, he had the opportunity to choreograph an original piece. Pierce has attended summer intensives at Charlotte Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Chautauqua Institution. He has performed in works such as Sasha Janes’ Loss and excerpts of Balanchine’s Raymonda and Who Cares? staged by Patricia McBride. Pierce is very excited to begin his professional career with Charlotte Ballet.
